you cannot make the same image with either program.

photoshop is a better image editing program. It has text...drop shadow stuff...all sorts of filters and other goodies....it has horrible horrible ...

they both have their strengths.

painter has more brush options and the water color is amazing...I find the color wheel more usable too.

IMHO...there is no good 6x8...get the largest wacom you can afford. I use a 12x18.

when looking for art schools I listened to the recruiters not just for help with my work...but for info on the kind of program I might be going into....

for example...Ringling ...

its all relative...

its a visual analyis not a verbal analysis that decides such matters.

they could be the same temp...or they could be different temps...depending on how far they are away from the ...

I went....I also then went to ringling. youll get a good idea of the different schools if you go talk to the recruiters.

I agree...lots of drawing from life...both still life, figure, portrait, landscape etc...thats what youll be doing first year...also some color work is a must as well...or you will get reamed for not ...
