I painted the silouettes of the leaves and filled them with gradients. Then I just went over each leaf by hand to give it some volume and shape.

Actually I just used a regular sharp brush and painted each leaf separately. I guess I could have done it quicker with a custom brush but I think Painter is probably better suited for that than Photos ...

I was planning to put a blue creature with a spear on the log, maybe that would make it a little more intresting. The purpose of the picture was to learn to draw foilage though.
