I was wondering how many of you have backgrounds in Fine arts, IE. Traditional painting, & if so do you apply this to your digital works? |

It all runs off the same theory, the same knowledge base. It's just another media and skill set to work digitally, and like all media, it has its advantages and limitations.

I have a background in traditional fine art. I've always felt a little out of place here, but mainly because of my subject matter and the style I use, rather than the medium I use. Also, I MUCH prefer Painter to Photoshop for image-making. Although for image-editing I do prefer photoshop.
But using traditional media informs my digital work, and vice versa.
