Hello

I have finished that image, but, well, i think im not pretty happy with that...i tried to make a "comic" effect, but, not too much. I tried to make the guy "strong" (so i didnt make a noticeable neck and i made big legs).

Well, hope you can help me to find some improvements.

Thanks in advance

is he supposed to be 'strong' like he can break you with one hand, or 'strong' like he's sort of chubby but there's a lot of meat under the fat? i think you could have gotten a good impression of strength if you'd made the gut and legs just *slightly* thinner...but this way looks good too. it depends on exactly what sort of 'don't fuck with this guy' you were after.

You have a good start here DDrake. I like the concept, and your choice of colors as well. Just a couple of suggestions, if you don't mind.

The proportions and musculature seem a bit off. It almost looks as if you drew an outline and then filled it in. Maybe you should try the stick-figure followed by cylinders and spheres technique.

As far as making him look strong, your on the way but the pose kind of ruins the feeling. He just looks big, not powerfull. Try a more dynamic stance, and better definition of the muscles.

Check out http://www.polykarbon.com for some really good tutorials on human figure drawing. You can also try checking out reference pics around the net, such as those of bodybuilders and the like.

Hope this helps. One last thing - I really like the detail of the X on his chest. That portion really stands out to me.

Good start.

I think I have noticed some problems with proportion or positioning that havent been already mentioned.

1. the neck seems too short. This could however help the character seem beefy.(hopefully someone else would like to offer an opinion on this?)

2.The feet seem to be standing on different objects. they are not on the same flat surface. It depends what your character is supposed to be standing on though.

other than that this is a good pic.

One more thing, I would reccomend you work on the lighting more.

Hope this has been of help to you.

I want to say too that the arms are anatomically (is it spelt like this in English?) incorrect. The shape of the right biceps isn't natural, and the triceps have no shape at all (and they should appear, as the arm is extended).
DDrake, you could have put the "acueducto" behind the man, it might be cool!

It looks good, but I think your are using the dodge and burn tools, and the colors look strange due to that.
Tambin opino que una visin post apocaliptica del acueducto estara bien =D

Hello!

Thanks for your comments!

Well about a "devastated acueducto", i think it can be a great idea, hehehe, but, hey, if i do that, some people here in Segovia will kick my ass!

Umm, about the "Strage muscles", well, i know, but im learning right now, and in future illustrations it will be better.

Ah, oh, yes, i work in Papada Soft, hehe. Thanks for your comments!!
