Hey thanks Frost! I really appreciate the words of encouragement and all the helpful advice. I'll follow your suggestions. This one took an hour or so. The next one I'll spend more time on and try and get all the colors right

Well this is the first time I post art on this board. It's also the first time I use a tablet. Hmm it's still very messy (got a lot of practicing to do). Oh by the way; I'm colorblind, that's why all the colors are so screwed up

Zorglub: That's interesting! The line art is good but needs some work - general shapes seem good. The colors are a little strange, but, that's cool. =) In fact, it's not all that disturbing to me. Had it been properly lit and shaded, I think the colors would have been only secondary.

I think you should try to make up for the color problem by learning how to light and shade things properly, spending a LOT of time seeing how things are lit and shadowed. This will make your drawings stand out and become clearer in form and depth.

Thank you for having the courage to post an image even though you're colorblind - I respect that very much.

Another thing you could do is to learn the RGB scales and how they work. By using the photoshop color sampler over a photo or such, you'll see what colors are what in nature or as 'we' see them, generally speaking and you'll develop a numerical knowledge of color representation you can after use in your own paintings.

One other thing I'd suggest is to lose the black outlines, they only make things look cartoony. What you can do is to color on a sepperate layer and then delete the line art layer when you're done. Then you can go over the color layer and refine your shapes as needed.

Good luck, will be waiting for more. =)
