I'm having a blast with these online drawing boards I have going on my site. They're an applet that this guy, David Jameson, started as a simple online doodle & Chat area. He had no idea of what artists could do with them. You're welcome to come to mine, and save your work... or load up other's drawings.
Here are direct links to those groupboards:
Chat & Draw Area 1
Chat & Draw Area 2
IMPORTANT UPDATE: The password to the second drawing room is: nopunks I will be changing the password on occasion, as I expect jerks to happen by. Once they do, I will change it, and keep only respectful visitors updated with the new passwords, and they can share it with whomever they feel would not piss others off
...and here's a (shrunken) pic of a drawing I did there: It's much more detailed than the 'average' drawing on the boards...
So come by and draw! We can watch each other draw in real time... and you don't have to take turns!! I may or may not be there, but it's always great to see other's art

Vesuvius... I just made area 2 have a password, because people kept clearing my board there. Tell you what. For now, the password will be: kittens
I will change the password if people that go to that area are inconsiderate of it, or if I just need to draw uninterrupted.
I ask that you go to that area, though, only if the first area is full ...
thanks!

NOTE: SECOND Important edit/update: The password box may pop up when you try to enter area 2. [/i] That area is view only without a password, and you can either get the password from a user there, or simply stay at board 1.
Also!! The boards are now capable of saving not 20, but 200 sessions!! Feel free to save there!! Along with that, the amount of users has increased! I don't know the actual number, but I think it's 15 at a time!
Everyone... I'm really sorry, but due to some ridiculously thoughtless behaviour, I will password protect area 2 occasionally. I'd get some jerk that would pop on, scribble over something I'd worked hard on, or clear the board, and leave before I could ban him. I'll probably be getting more boards up, because both boards were pretty much full all day.
To keep it as fair as possible, I'd like to enlist a few moderators for my drawing boards. People who will maturely deal with such inconsiderate morons as I pointed out. Each board has its own moderator password, and it's easy to admin on, so I'd like to get 2 or 3 volunteers per board, so that most every hour is covered.
I will be particularly choosy when it comes to picking admins on board 2, because that is where I plan to go for complete solitude, when I want to work on a detailed piece... and my moderators there have to make sure they give me that privacy if I need it.
I'll only give moderator status to a select few, so don't be offended if you don't make the list. Moderators will govern functions like:
- Disabling clear
- Disabling loads
- Disabling drawing
- Warning visitors who draw offensive material, or swear too much.
- (rarely)Banning highly inconsiderate visitors.
If you're interested, post here, email me, or catch me in one of the two chat/draw areas. If you're chosen to be a moderator, I'm giving you a great deal of trust, so I have to feel good about you. Moderators are respectable, patient (sounds like a boyscout line), and forgiving. The moderator is there, simply to protect the fun of the visitors who are not having their fun at the expense of pissing everyone else off.
Strata! If you want to see all of the art I did for that magazine, GO HERE to view the final everything.
Chances are, area 2 won't be password protected much, as each board is presently maxed at 5 users. If this heavy traffic holds up, I will be hosting more boards, and need more moderators. The number of users per board should increase, also. So far it's been a major blast, and the quota of @$$holes have been pretty small *crosses fingers*
Thanks everyone! And I hope to see you on my boards frequently!! Feedback is most welcome, and all who contact me for being a moderator will be considered seriously, although the earlier contacts will have a better chance at being one right away

Either you don't support javascript, the chatboard is full, or is password protected. |

clever way to fix... dreelix =)
Make him taller instead of his arms shorter =)
The revised version is a hellofalot better even tho the changes weren't all that big.
I can see why the ladys forehead would be like that now that I've seen the portrait.
Yaaay Mike

I'm glad you liked the changes, srata I really appreciated your input on that thread... it helped me a lot! Actually, I did make his arms shorter, along with making him taller, and making his hands smaller.
Everyone else... I have an important update on my boards. There is some detailed info up a few posts, but I'm including this info again here, for easy access. It pertains mainly to board 2:

Vesuvius,
UPDATE: I just think the groupboard page is down right now, hence no access to the javascripting. For other problems pertaining to accessing my groupboards, refer below:
No, all I have on my page is the code that refers to the main groupboard javascripting. These boards are in beta testing, so problems like the one you're having may not be infrequent for a while. I just got off the phone with someone who had the same problem, and while I've never had the problem myself, I'll report it to David Jameson... and he'll hopefully have a fix to it, if not a simple answer.
Meanwhile, if this problem happens again, the best way to deal with it, I believe, is forcing a refresh... one step above refresh alone. If you're on a PC, hold down Control, and hit F5, or hold Ctl & hit refresh in your browser. Mac users use the key that is equal to Ctl on PC (I forget the name), and hit refresh(reload) in your browser.

you shouldn't have to be my tech support, but thanks! it's working now, so I think it was just groupboard being down, I like your site (your work and your board) so thanks a lot! |
