Next fall semester I'm off to college and I plan on majoring in either illustration, graphic design, or computer art. No matter what, I'm going to be taking a hefty load of illustration and painting courses just out of the joy of it. I want to get a head start and to get some info and practice in on doing things right. I've never really started out the right way. I have two books by Loomis, Figures in Action and Drawing the Human Head, both from Walter Foster. I also have two books from Robert Beverly Hale: Anatomy Lessons from the Great Masters and Drawing Lessons from the Great Masters. I have Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain by Edwards too. Can anyone recommend some good art literature for me? I'm really thirsty for knowledge right now and any help from the experienced artists here is appreciated.

Get "perspective drawing for artists" by Rex Vicat Cole its a good one Amazon has it.
I also have a book called "yellow and blue don't make green", I know it sounds wacky but its not what you think.
I also have alot of straight art books like "John Singer Sargent the early portraits"
I have a Velasquez book, more books that I reccomend are the George Bridgeman books. The list goes on but these are for starters

Richard Schmid: Alla Prima- Everything I know About Painting.

Tom Browning: Timeless Techniques For Better Oil Paintings.

These two books are the best I own about painting. Incredible source of advanced knowledge--not your basic newbie stuff, but it's very easy to digest.
