DAMN it's been a long time since I checked out the forums. I've been looking through all the old posts, but there's so many! That gas mask thread was great. Well, I had some setbacks (more like, biting off more than I can chew) and wasn't able to finish my demo reel on time, but I'm still making progress on it.
I'm almost done with the main guy. I just have to finish painting the texture for the body, but the way I modeled his hair is really bothering me (too messy). I also did some renders of the environment with better lighting. Just testing right now, because most of it is still using the default shaders. One of these days I'll update my site with more progress pics.

Looks great, nice style to it. The only thing that bothers me is you can see the guys' hair through his ear. Barely visible from afar, but it could be easily remedied.
Can't wait to see the full anim. |

wow, this is starting to look damn good sedone (love the characters shapes, very similar to your drawing style)...nice to see you posting again. Must be a huge project you are cooking up.. -when will we see it in motion ?
btw, thanks for the compliments on the post I did. Yes, it's been far to long since we've talked, me thinks.

Looking great! you've put alot of effort into this. Keep us updated on how it's going.
are you doing all of this yourself, or are you working with a group?
Can't wait to see the final product! |

Very nice stuff! I like the linework on the guy's outfit, even though (I'm assuming) it's a temp texture. The environment looks intruiging too - do you have any design sketches?

Thanks for taking a look, everyone.
Loud, the hair was tucked away nicely before I began to tweak it. It's got too many polys anyway, so I'm going to redo it.
Francis, yeah, I liked the way those lines looked, too. I'll just tone them down some and make it a patchwork leather suit thing. I posted some sketches a while back of the room, but maybe you saw them and didn't consider them design sketches?
Joachim, it might take a few more months before everything's ready to be animated. Right now I'm trying to finish modeling this main guy, the environment, a female character, a bad guy, and a big monster to wreck the place.
samdragon, thanks! I'm working on it by myself, for my reel. That's why it's taking so damn long to finish. Really the hardest thing about working on this is staying motivated. I used to nitpick every detail, now I'm just trying to get it all done!
Awetopsy, "water-place-area-thingy" is the best description of it I've heard. I'm not sure what it is either.
burnOut, the textures really help give it a certain style, which is good because my characters are fairly typical/generic.
Nick2k, I'm using MAX.
