Hey all! I am new and even though my art is no where close to the standard that I have seen on this forum I decided to post it anyway.
Maybe I can get some help and improve!
Here it is:

thanks for replying
When you say add more to the line drawing are you talking about shading or more detail(somehow)?
I usually dont line art but shade my drawings so I am new to this and dont really know how much detail needs to be in the picture.
I would love it if you could show me how to color it. I have photoshop 6.0 but I am not that good in using it as yet.
Also I am afraid of finishing her arm in case I stuff the whole drawing. |

It would be pretty easy to colorize it, but first you should think about adding more to the line drawing first.
Art TAKE TIME. This is something Im still drilling into my head. If it doesnt look good after 5 mins, I give up on it. Thats not the right attitude.
TAKE YOUR TIME. Work some more on it.
Finish her arm, and add some kind of background. Then I'll color it, if nobody else will. Or better yet, I'll show YOU how to color it. |

Don't worry about it. Just do you best to finish the arm and if you "stuff" (is this an aussie term? I've never heard it.) it then so what, you just draw a new drawing. People get way too attached to their sketches. You should be improving with every sketch you do so if you mess up on one, the next one should be better so don't sweat it. Like Scooby said, it takes time. |

here, I got bored of my current project, and gave about 45min-hour to this thingy.
Just copy your line art to a new layer, set that to multiply, then clear your background layer.
Set it to the color of your choosing, then begin to "color inside the lines".
Easy. |

Thanks very much for coloring and the tips. Hopefully I will be able to get time to learn how to color.....I have seem some awesome coloring that has been done in photoshop.
I am excited cause I am gonna be taking this portrait drawing class this next week.....first art course that I have ever taken so should be good!
Thanks again I appreciate it very much!
oh and stuff I guess could be an aussie term! In the context that I have used it in you could replace it with 'mess' also has a lot of other meanings! |

here ya go, consider it cg-ed. don't think of your drawing as 2d, alway imagine it walking off the paper. if you want it to be believable that is. spend more time on your drawing. |
