and to answer the dada question
actually the "dada" movement dealt with DALI and other surrealists.
as far as i know from art history.

Okay. I get it.

Anyway, that's a pretty cool pic. Weird and trippy looking. Nice colors. It's kind of surreal in a way.

Mmm...dada was actually more of an artistic rebellion. That is, artists in the movement went against the defined ways that many other artists had set. For example, one person might paint a huge portrait with extreme detail, similar to a Rembrandt. After this, the painter would then paint a huge smiley face over the majority of the picture. During this time (World War II, etc.) the people of the movement were so fed up with the world that they went against every "conforming" standard in artistic expression. Sort of your 70's rebellion case but with a bunch of old guys/women

Jim, as to your painting. I don't really think it has a "dada" feel, although there is no definition for dada. Looks pretty good, the color separation in terms of hue and luminosity give it a desert feel. Not sure I really like the overall "posterized" feel of the hand, but it seems to work well enough. Good job, keep it up.

i think 'following hints' is voluntary, not mandatory. at least for now.
