Here's my latest development, taking me ages to do, like AGES, doesnt look it, but it has. Anyways, tell me what u think so far, let me know your thoughts. I still have to work on the hands and edge out his face and work on his clothes more, if you have something to say, dont be Confused but say it with Twisted Evil

You asked for Twisted Evil so that's what I'll give you. I'll point out the good parts first. It's great that you have a light source! That gets overlooked so much, but it's the only way to add volume to your picture. Good work with that. However, when you were working on the shirt and coat you totally forgot about the light source and just made stuff up. Go back and redo those parts.

Use reference to find out what kind of textures go on those items, and how they might wrinkle. For future drawings, (or this one if you're really into it), use reference for your figure drawing. Your anatomy is way off. The expression is also pretty far off. He looks a bit surprised, but not scared for his life as I would expect him to be. Find some reference for that, or take a picture of yourself acting really scared. (A more entertaining option might be to scare the hell out of someone and take a picture of it.)

Nice one point perspective, though, and an interesting concept overall, which is more than can be said of much work on this board. Don't think of these crits as harsh, think of them as honest and constructive, because that's how I intend them to be. Remember: Use reference, study anatomy, don't forget about your lightsource. Good luck!

Nice views Drew, I see your point in the shading and where the light source should hit in his shirt and jacket. I think the lighting wouldnt be able to hit where his stomach and just below his chest is because of his arm outstretching. I was still working on that, but you've made me want to look closer at my analysing. As for his face, I'm not too serious about him having the most realistic emotions, but I might look into that a bit more so I can get him to have a better expression. I was looking myself in a mirror a few times to get some of the lighting on the face and some on the jacket just around his neck and even doing some expressions, so they're pretty close to realism. But you're right, I have to work on the jacket way more. His hands need to give reference to the lighting source aswell, so that should portray it when Im done with it a bit. Also I was looking at my friends jackets and stuff and there is not much wrinkling as you would expect, but I dont care, I just do this for excitement and so people can appreciate the stuff I do. Thanx for the insite Drew, Im gonna keep some of that in mind for this pic and when I do others. Smile

If you compare this guys lighting on his face to my pic, I think its pretty realistic! Not quite, but close.

the lighting's not quite right on the face -- but somewhat similar at best. not sure what kinda look you're going for -- but the eyes, just to let you know the pupils are never circular , always obstructed by top eye lid more often than not.

looking good so far though. perspective is really neat.
