watmough: heh...didn't think anyone would notice i haven't been around. like most, i've been busy with paying work, the kids, experimenting with habituates etc. but thanks for thinking of me & btw, i've got a nice little collection of your inspired images on my mpd, and really like the textural canvas stuff your doing. keep going, i'm loving seeing what you come up with next! viag: fun (again)! sd: love the ambiguity of the vader helmet.

I'm in a dark room in a post production facility.
The walls are all grey carpeting. The lighting is very subdued.
There is a 40 watt lamp on a gooseneck
Here it is as is appears to me by eye. |

Sorry for the HPX pic... I didn't meant to mess this thread up. I did it for fun, just for painting anything... I should have written "after HPX1" when I posted it, ok my fault... (I corrected the post now btw)
Come on, it was VERY obvious that it was done after HPX, I just didn't mention it (incorrectly)... but some guy just got that and pointed it out, which is ok, but insulting is not ok.
Anyways I cannot understand that you take it THAT seriously... after all this is a fun thread... one guy even came to my site and insulted me in form of a comment (full of four-letter words) to that pic. I think that is quite pathetic (let's me think some people just have nothing better to do but having fun whenever other people make a mistake, because then they finally got someone to hate other than themselves )
- ok, you all like HPX and so do I obviously, but drop the hate. It's just not worth it and THAT would be what could ruin this thread (although that would be a very hard thing to do IMO), not just one shitty "ripped" pic.
However I got the message and will tell you of references in the future even if it's just a very quick quickie...
(Sorry for any bad English... )
BTW, this one is 100% original:

chris-mayernik,gizmodus,thansk alot guys!
chris-ya...the value you THINK you are putting down, youre not.watercolours always dry lighter in value and tend to de-saturate,too.exploit these characteristics to their full extent!
spooge, thanks alot! i sent u a pm about how i did that one,i think that would be too much rambling for here...you were close on the media, though ...just regular pastels, not oil.
swarm,really great,awesome stuff on your site,too....you are a real artist....i am jealous.
visual myriad,HAHA!...thanks alot, very nice to hear.that painting is spectacular, awesome sense of space.
reakshun, thanks alot!...always good to see you in here.
jder,very good.
annisahmad, thank you very much,i am rather fond of that one, too, trying not to kill myself on these, seems to be working out a little better, less frustration showing in the work,i think.very nice painting, annisahmad, btw, good colour/value.

Watmough: I love it, great colours. Do you use gouache for certain areas or do you paint around them (purple leaves on the left)
annisahmad: Really nice values in that one.
Viag: You have a really unique style, cool stuff on your website too.
visualmyriad: Like that EpI image, nice movement in the fight.
Reakshun: I like that one, effective composition.
Synnical: A few anatomical issues but I really like the image because it has a great mood.
tiger1313: good to see you again.
Matthew:
Skywalker: I like that landscape.
After R. Bolton, trying to add some texture to the image.
I find it quite hard to get that drybrush effect in watercolour
Keep it up everybody. |
