Why shave? the more you shave it off, the faster it grows out again!

Im currently working on a BEARD!!

I have a theory about shaving in general, what if were making our bodies belive that the hair we save off is really WORN off, so future generations will generally have MORE hair then us thru adaptive mutation. Thus when were shaving our faces, legs, armpits etc. it can in the long run produce the oposite effect for example, the quantity of hair on womens legs could very well increase dramaticly....

my cuz told me that the first time girls wax, is the worst, but apparently with time, throuh waxing, the hair gets thinner and easier to get rid off.

i have no idea why but i shave best with a cheap razor and just water on my face. seriously, i've tried all sorts of shaving methods and this is quickest, no cuts and gets rid of the hair - for me anyway.

jez: about womens razors being better... definately! =) I used my girlfriends gilette something or other (the one they're now releasing in diamond) once, and it was the most problemfree smooth shave ever!

travis travis: yeah I tried that once... I had razorburn for a week afterwards... *shiver*

as for the gilette sending out razors on birthdays thing... this is actually a really good marketing tool since research has shown that men who start shaving with a razor are extremely unlikely to switch over to electric razors and vice versa... so if they hook you when you start shaving, chances are they've got you for life since they're market leading anyways...

PixHortHit:
The hairs don't really grow out faster...they actuallly grow at the same speed, but since they were shaven off at the base (which is thicker than the tip) they'll will feel coarser to the touch.

The hair growing on my face doesn't worry me as much as how it seems to have stopped growing on my head...

I just use whatever razor is in the shower that day. I hate those disposable ones though...I've got thick hair on my legs (damn Italian background...), and those do nothing. At least it doesn't grow very quickly.

strata: yea, you're right about the marketing, besides at least in finland the razor blades for gillettes are extremely costly (for my purse anyhow). At least I think that they get most of their money from selling the blades. so it's good in that sense too.

sorry to bring this thread back up, but it thought this was important. i just bought some of those turbo razors. i think they worked pretty good. i had several days of stuble on my face and it cut the hair with not much of a problem. going against the grain wasn't much trouble either.

well i just felt the need to report this to you guys .. oh and the turbo blades fit all mach 3 razors. you don't need some special turbo one.
