Something I worked on here at Blur:

Part 1

Part 2

Part 3

I did scene assembly (lights and comp + set dressing) on about 12 shots in part 2.

HULK SMASH!

Wow, these are fantastic! Very Happy

The part 1 links seems to direct to part 3 instead of part 1 though... so you might want to change that link?

I wondered who had done those. They're great.

Nice stuff!

I don't think Blur's ever put out a dud yet.

You enjoy being at Blur a lot more than Fathom?

Thanks guys, it was a super fun project to work on.

Luna: it's a slightly different environment here. At Fathom I worked on the same set of shots, in the same style, for 3.5 years. Blur has me on something different every month, so it keeps things from getting stale (but the pressure to finish things quickly is much higher).

After the Ironman short, I textured some buildings (Kwik-E-Mart, Krusty Burger, Moe's Tavern, the Simpsons' house, and the elementary school) for the Simpsons ride-film that's being installed at Universal Studios. Right now I'm doing scene assembly for a Halo Wars cinematic sequence. Don't know what I'll be on after that.

Blur is almost definitely going to be starting production on at least one full-length feature in the near future, and I'd love to stay on for it. It's a cool shop. I definitely feel lucky to have made it in the door.

Well, even if you don't end up a permanent hire at Blur, the projects you worked on there will probably guarantee you a nice job somewhere else. Nothing elevates a resume more than high profile projects at a respected studio.

Sweet! I wish to hell Marvel would do an animated movie or TV series with that kind of quality.

Kind of funny those do a better job with the characters than the film counterparts. (here's hoping for Iron Man)

That will never happen. Animated TV shows are typically done on very tight deadlines and budgets. There's also a general mentality that animated TV shows don't need to be amazing in quality--just passable. It's extremely rare to find any animated TV shows with extremely high production values, and so far none has ever looked anywhere near that good.

True. Who knows what kind of advances 3D technology will make--maybe one day you can do very high quality stuff using a premade system like the machinima stuff.

Well, regardless of the technical practicalities, I more or less meant, "Wouldn't it be cool if...."
