Hi everyone,
I wanna create a lifesize head bust in the near future. Its some kind of therapy for myself since things arent too well at the moment. But im not sure what kind of material i wanna use. I worked with Clay before but i think its really hard to get fine details. Or maybe i just used the wrong kind of clay...... I used Super sculpey, but thats like really expensive since theres no easy supple available in my country. And im not sure how to fit the finished bust into my oven. Soap Stone is nice too, but its chips so easily. With smaller works i will just start over or change them so its no problem. But this project is bigger and i dont want my bust to look like the sphinx with a broken nose or sth.
Marble..no idea. I heard its quite hard to work with and ive never worked with a chisel n stuff.
Anyway, im open for all ur suggestions. Feel free to recommend anything to me, even i already mentioned my thoughts about it in my post.
"Best" material for a beginner
