...so I started yet another online comic project This one though, will be only a short story and it's all about a snowy dark forest, one badass Viking and a few nasty surprises.
I was thinking of making the project visible right from the start, which means I will keep updating this thread as I make new panels & pages for the story.
I'll try to post the URL to the site later this week.
Thanks for taking a look & rock on fellow Sijuners!
p.s. Please listen to this song while looking at the content:

p.p.s And here's the link to the comic online: http://murskain.pp.fi/whereshadowsfall/index.html

And here's the first "page". The format will be a down scrolling one with approximately 2 chapters worth of content.

Thanks guys! ^__^
whom, yes. I'll put a site together sometime soonish. It'll be something really simple again
like I used with Genesis a year ago (damn, time flies). I'll probably update it a little bit
with more current sharing functions and such.
I'm also really happy that the song gets approval, since it was one of my main sources
of inspiration. That whole album "Sprit of Ukko" (their first I believe) is full of
powerful songs like Across the snows (the one that I linked).
Incase somebody gets seriously interested:
http://www.play.com/Music/CD/4-/5447399/The-Spirit-Of-Ukko/Product.html?searchstring=kiuas&searchsource=0&searchtype=allproducts&urlrefer=search
And that being said, I really should thank you whom, since a image that you posted
a while ago in the speedpainting thread really got to me and I suppose also gave
me a lot of inspiration for this story.
It was the one with the really dark fog, a knight on a horse and the flying monster.
I'd buy a poster of that immediately if it was possible. |

Whom, dude, seriously... your speedpaints are a damned elemental force. And as if that's not enough,
you are starting to show the same crazy skill and work ethic with the creature sculpts
you have been making.
lol, I guess you can ruin somebodys day with all that.
A small update:

a small update here, "page 2" is now ready. can be seen above.
Felt real good to paint something really organic again, I've been doing way too much machines, body armor and metallic surfaces recently with the Genesis storyline. |

Yea this looks good, I really like the overall color scheme. Gonna be interesting to see what happens next.
Regarding wolfs, cause there was a woman killed today in Sweden by a pack of wolves at an animal park. She worked with the wolves and had been for three years when today they suddenly attacked her and killed her.
....Gotta be careful when it comes to wolves, I do think some people seem to mistake them for dogs. |

That animal park accident was tragic, just read the news myself.
Regarding the story, I will build up the tension a bit more and I'm quite confident that it will deliver a surprise or few along the way.
Thank you for the comment!
p.s. There's a "third" page already uploaded, but it is at a draft stage. |

looks nice, goes well together.... One thing that kind of got my eye, is the heavy smokelike mist from the warm breath... not so much that is quite smoke like in its movements, but that it's pretty much all the frames, basically the feeling of exhale, relaxation... I feel you could get some more tension to some of the moments by leaving the breath out, a slight feeling of urgency might come out from just that.
my 2c! |

Sneak - busted! Heh heh.
Nice unity, yep (agree).
How'd I miss that song first (fifth? sixth?) time through - google translate (last
verse)...
"alone, he wanders mis' shadow falls
through the mist and frost, accompanied by a steel
heart is cold as the land of the frost
but the anger in his eyes, burning like a fiery stove"
Me, started another story (story only) back in January (did I mention this
already?); scifi. Thirty years and eighty-seven characters later, I think it's run its
course. Very least: good practice in character development. |

@ Lakka Thanks, that's a very good idea and I'll give it a try,
especially when the storytelling picks up and the action starts.
@durgldeep LONG TIME NO SEE!! Sounds like you've been busy,
just scriptwriting (damn that is still hard) or doing visual stuff too?
Hehhe, that google translated bit was pretty accurate,
it only missed one word.
"alone, he wanders mis' shadow falls.. -> alone, he wanders where shadows fall..."
Thanks for the comments!! |

Hehe, yep I'm still here.
No graphics, just scriptwriting in my head; outline on paper (placeholder for
various events). Flows a lot better when I don't pause to write - damn, where's
that brain-to-keyboard plug...
Afterthought: I do have miscellaneous pics for the characters (from the web);
useful focus/placeholders.
And: couple days ago started rewriting Blade Runner, lol, just for the hell of it
(couple parallels between the stories so not hard to nudge some characters into
Deckard's world - er, Ford is out, Morrison is in! heh heh ). Sound track got me
started (still damn good, hell yes). |

Hmmmm - Rutger Hauer has a helluva filmography already; something special in mind?

Re link, haven't heard that one. Thanks.

Oh: u mean his own Bladerunner sequel, okay (missed that and I'm not even sleep-
deprived, hmmmm...). |

Still chugging, wow. (me too (but locally))
Inspired me to 'paint' a couple frames - in MSPaint,
hehe (fun with old computers).
Single page layout is still my fave.

Easy to be an armchair critic (and not actually *do* anything) so here's my
doodle/comment fee. I guess it's not clear (to me) if the wolf was scared away
or is still lurking (still in the story), ie. when he bangs his shield; if the former
then maybe a couple more panels:
http://forums.sijun.com/viewtopic.php?p=432042#432042
Again, easy for me to say (that looks like a lot of work to me, yep). Kudos.

Lol, durgle, I love those frames!!
I'm not going to spoil anything about the story though,
all I can offer for now is to say wait for it...
I will promise to bump this 'project' up a bit in importance and try work on it
more regularly. It would be nice to finish the first chapter and redo the front page
of the site (still the beta) during this year.
That being said, I've been doing a lot of pencils and watercolors lately.
I guess I had an OD of digital art last year.
Cheers!

*grabs coffee* *waits*
Moved the image to another thread (always concious of cluttering someone
else's page) - but the link is not not a 'direct hit' like I thought it would be
(jumps upward as the page loads). I'll never be a programmer...? |

Wow, that was pretty intense. Looking forward to #2. Are you doing the whole project without dialogue? |

@MicahV Thank you! And yes, the whole story was supposed to be completely without dialogue. Experimental storytelling and all that...
@durgldeep - It seems to be that time of the year again...
Here's the start of a new page:
