hehehehe :P
Some of my uni engineering lectures are like that - only that I always go armed with my sketch book for those hours of boredom waiting to happen.
for the closing tag above, you need to put in a backwards slash ie [/img].
One thing I would recommend, try to get some darker tones by pushing harder on the pencil, going over it more, or buying a darker pencil

yeah, my trusty old #2 unsharpened pencil cant be the best art tool. Also i was looking at a picture and they were using really soft lighting, it was probably darker than that, but it was relatively uniform and not much darker on his face. |

In Australia we have a different way to describe pencils ie HB 2B 4B so I don't know what a #2 actually is. Sure the tools may help a little but there is no substitute for talent, style and being creative, which your piccy shows signs of.
If you have photoshop and want to get rid of the blue lines, play around with the curves 'adjustment' layer, and select the blue channel.

I would have thought E=mc2 would have been more appropriate

I think a #2 is an HB, not sure though. I must say those cheap BIC mechanical pencils are awesome |
