Hey at least you know your limitations and what you need to work on.

I don't think the top pic would look that bad if you worked a little on the smoothness of the color blending, but maybe you meant it to look like that..who am i to say?

As for the bottom one, it looks very good as far as 'the look' and yes if you worked on the things you mentioned (anatomy and proportion) it would look great!
