No, as far as I know, there is no easy way of getting rid of the default palette. What I did was delete all of them and then saved that as a palette, and when I want to replaces the swatches, I just use "Replace Palette..."

Krazy, when I first got my Wacom, I got very frustrated because I felt like a spaz trying to draw with it. It takes a bit of getting used to the feel of it, but keep with it and you'll get so used to it you cannot imagine what you did without it.
Good luck with your tablet! Looking forward to seeing the results.

You'll like you're tablet, cant say enough about em'. As far as your pallette concerns try making your own in a psd file. The one I posted is similiar to what i create with every img I do. A different pallette for each img that way you know exactly what colors you're using. This one for instance is a divinci sequence (all mid tones). you can make all kinds pallettes this way for all different sequences, and there simple to use. Good luck-

Making a .psd file and using the yedropper to pick the colours is the easiest way for sure. As for skin tones - why not open a photo containing the right tones and pick from there?
Just an idea - which the purists probably wont like =P

I don't think that's a good idea for picking skin tones. Not because it's "cheating" or anything, but because skin tones are affected so much by their enviroment.
I also like to use more dramatic colors in most of my art. I'm not necessarily trying to recreate life...I'm trying to make life-plus! I think pulling colors from a photo would hamper that. But hey, that's just me.

Listen to Funfetus
You really don't have to do a palette for each picture you do... I did that on the Amiga in the days of old, but much has changed since then.
Try to block out the majority of shapes in the picture you wish to paint, and at the same time establish a light/colour theme for the painting. Then use the eyedropper to sample colour from the painting as you progress to define the shapes and details. Vary the tones and values of the colour with the sliders as you paint to your desired result. This works much smoother than worrying about a fixed palette....

thanks guys for the help. have a merry christmas or happy hanakua(sorry for mispelling hehhe, that is if its mispelled)and happy new year to thought this was funny hehe enjoy.
'Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house
Everybody felt shitty -- even the mouse.
Mom at the Whorehouse and Dad smoking grass;
I'd just settled down for a nice piece of ass.
When out on the lawn I heard such a clatter
I sprung from my piece to see what the matter
Then out on the lawn I saw a big dick
I knew in a moment: it must be Saint Nick.
He came down the chimney like a bat out of hell
I knew in a moment the fat fucker fell.
He filled all our stockings with pretzels and beer
And a big rubber dick for my brother the queer.
He rose up the chimney with a thunderous fart
The son of a bitch blew the chimeny apart,
He swore and he cursed as he rode out of sight
"Piss on you all and have a hell of a night!" |

heh, FunnyFetusMan.
you know PS has a swatches palette in which you can add your own colors. you just click on the right tab and hit the dump/erase/kill all/llamma button and then it clears it and you make your own that way.
its a faster than making a seperate file. even though that works just as good.
