Not that i made it for this occasion... But since these 2 probably will never get finished beyond this i thought what the heck.
Bear in mind these are originally 29x21cm 300dpi CMYK images so the 72dpi RGB jpg terror pretty much fucked up all colors, contrast and detail.

it lacks the uNF and Oomph! (i know it, you *have* to listen to them, admit!) that the stuff created in your worst grindcore-angst phases.
the first pic is just weird, i can't place what. it's just odd. but then again, so are you andthat's not a good thing. or maybe it is, depends on how you look at it.
the second pic is too flat. it implies 3dimensionality, yet it fails the viewer and won't deliver the hint. do something.
destro's secret on repeat in winamp, 5 hours of hate, then start re-working it.
(you're going trendy, man...)
[edit, forgot to mention the plain white on the second one looks disturbing. it's unnaturally white. add texture?]

I was listening to your extensive collection of synaesthesia mp3's when i made the top one. I think it shows. This one will end up in the archives to be raped in a moment of boredom - you'll see (parts of it) resurface.
The bottom one is intended to look flat. I wanted it to have the "trendy carson ripoff magazine" look because it's an ad and people dig that kind of shit. Perhaps ill even add illegible crackpot-behind-the-mac typography with reversed serifs to it.

I like the top one. The idea anyways. Although I probably would have called it "fall from grace" instead of just falling.. with the pic of the slum there and all.

Hey...I really like these-especially the second one. The first one would be better IMHO if you did something about the big black shadowy area on the top right of the pic, it's seems too unnatural and just doesn't work for me. The rest of the pic is beauts I wouldn't change a thing in the second pic...it struck a cord with me (down-tuned D string) immediatly

I actually like what's going on in these two pieces here. They seem to have some thought that went into them and the mood suits me better. I like the top one best though. The only thing I would have done different is I would've experimented with adding some deeper shadows to the building as it's fading to black to indicate some forms back there...just to see how it would read, if it might make the transition to black a tad better. Otherwise, nicely done man.

Thanks, all. Like i said, the top one is far from finished. It needs alot more elements and a serious contrast job.
The 2nd one...well.... hmz. Cant make it too gritty or evil 'cause it's sposed to appeal to a wider audience. heh. If you live in Amsterdam (not that anyone does ) you'll probably see it hanging around in a week or 2.
Dino : put all them 6 strings to G-flat man! *MOSH* |
