Has anyone here ever heard of or gone to Edinboro University? That's another choice that's goin around in my head...
I want to go to a place near home, but i still want to go to a good school.
Edinboro is supposed to have one of the oldest art programs in the nation, and I guess it's pretty good?
i know they have had quite a few Disney animators that graduated from there. You know in the Warner Bros. movies, where they have Bug Bunny eating a Carrot and leaning on the WB logo, that was done by an edinboro graduate... but i'm not sure what else.
Plus, it's a rural community (i really don't like the big city), and it's the second closest option (it's 100 miles away, about 1 1/2 hours, art institute of Pitt is about 45 minutes away)

So, has anyone hear ever heard of Edinboro or know anything about their art program? The top choices in my head are School of Visual Arts, Edinboro, Art Inst of Pitt, and Joe Kubert... btw, i want to be an illustrator.

thanks for any/all replies

Hi again.. Dunno anything about Edinboro University... all i can say is go tour the school when classes are in. Talk to the senior students.. and do it without the admissions ppl around .. so the students can be themselves and not feel "watched" by the admissions ppl.. hahaha..

Anyways.. i just checked out AIP website.. nice big building.. wow.. 17 computer labs.. thats like i think 7 to 8 more new labs than i was there. That guy Bo Mosley that works for Square now.. i agree with what he says that he was lucky he took industrial design as oppose to Computer animation..

One thing i like about Pittsburgh.. is its mueseum.. Carnegie Museum is damn impressive.. during our animal anatomy classes... we go there alot to sketch.. Its a art student's Haven.. I would say almost on par with Chicago's Art Museum .. And since its not just an art museum.. its also a museum of natural sciences as well lots of great exhibits.. spent alot of time there.

I think a very important thing about going to an art college... is your exposure to a lot of very talented ppl. I'm not afraid to say that because u are in an environment where there is soo much talent.. it really motivates yourself to push yourself harder to stand out. The friendly rivalry can be a good thing. Also.. I learnt just as much from my classmates as i did from my lecturers.. sometimes i think i learn more from among my friends and classmates than i do from my teachers.. Especially when it comes to learning software.

So.. the more talented artsy students u have around u the better.. because.. u kinda feed off each others energy and enthusiasm. Kinda like in Sijun.. =P
