Hi everybody,
I'm in a little delicate situation. I'm working freelance as a illustrator and have done some projects. Normaly I've got paid for a whole project, most of the time it went well, so to say payment was allright. Now, a company offered me to work for them freelance on various games for PC. I'm going to create different charakters and locations. We agreed that payment should be on hourly basis, because this is going to be a longtime cooperation. I haven't been paid on an hourly basis before. So, what do you think I should ask of them. I know, it's a difficult question but I hope, when a lot of people answer I can find a value somewhere in the middle. As you might have noticed I'm not from USA or UK, in fact I'm from Germany where payment is a bit different, but that's ok, I think I can recalculate paymentadvises. So please, when you have any suggestions tell me. I would be very gratefull for every hint |

Figure out the price based on your previous payments. How much did you get for one of those older freelance jobs? just figure out how many hours you took to do it, and take your price and divide it by that. That should give you a rough hourly rate based on your previous works. Also figure out your rate based on other 'professions'. eg.. you should be getting payed more than a McDonalds burger boy! |
