Hi. Might be bit silly but does anyone know places on the net where to find full body portraits of people? Or a book for that matter.. Need practise and dont want to get into real life drawing just yet. And its cheaper :]
Any help appreciated. |

Do you mean painted portraits? or nudes for sketching and reference? type in 'art nudes' in search engines and you should get some 'respectable' nude sites. Be careful though. |

You CANNOT go wrong with softcore asian scans.
Seriously, it's very easy to find full series of very tasteful nudes of lone females to draw/paint. I find myself looking through full sets very often simply for, uhm.. artistic research. Or something.
Really though, very good stuff to draw from.
<edit>In fact, here's some lineart of a nude from a set of what I have labeled as only "Maas" that I thought looked pretty good (the line art, though not to say that the photo was bad). http://www.eden.rutgers.edu/~derm/art/butttest.gif

Ian, yes I meant photos of nudes, but also people with their clothes on to practise the folding and wrinkling etc. I'll try what you suggested. Thanks for replying. And thanks derm, I'll give it a go too
cheers

For reference of people of all ages and clothes, I order catalouges of major clothes manufacturers. In Norway for instance we have Ellos and H&M, I'm sure one of them is located in Sweden as well And it's free!
Ah, found it - click here:

my humble suggestion:
hang out in a booksore for a day in the art section. This pays off because you can peruse the books to find exactly what you want before you invest in the book. I have found it helpful when working on 3d models of the human (or human-like) form. The books that I have looked at are kind of pricey and since I'm an extremely poor college student I don't own one. There are countless books that deal with like every human pose imaginable.
I'll try to go to some bookstores tomorrow and look for titles I can find for you. |
