hello all,
As you can guess I'm new to the forums. A friend of mine posts up here and he recomended the site. I looked at it before, and left deminished. I'm now back hoping to to improve my digital art.
Just a little background information. I'm in my final year of an Animation Diploma. I just got myself a wacom board (Graphire 2) for my brithday, which probably has sparked my need to improve my digital art.
My work is o.k at best, but hopefully with time and practice it will improve. I was just wondering if people have some tips/hints/tutorials for a newbie with a wacom. I've searched through the forums and come up with a couple of links, but any tips would be greatfully recieved.
cheers,
bleachn |

Hi and welcome to the board!
Don't have any tips at the moment but a question though: where are you doing Animations? I thought about going for that kind of course but there's not one freaking course here in Germany (actually, there is one) or at least I couldn't find any. Do you have any helpful links?
Well, I guess this question goes out to everybody else, especially to you European guys: please help me! |

FSME, I'm actually studying in Singapore at the moment but thats only for the next couple of months, then I'm heading back to Ireland. I'm not sure about in Germany, but there are 2 animation courses in Ireland.
There is Ballyfermot (set up by Don Bluth, and focuses steadily on traditional cell animation)
There is a also Dun Laoghaire Institure (which is what I'm looking at)
Thats all I've really got, sorry I couldn't be more help |

a good place for newbie tutorials is http://www.gorblimey.com . At least in my opinion... It's Socar Myles's site with pretty basic instructions, and some more advanced ones. The great thing about the tutorials there is that they give you good pointers to develop your own style. </fangirl pimping>
<selfpromotion> A basic drawingly style for drawing animal hair: http://www.asurfael.net/tutorials/fur/ </selfpromotion> (it's not that good anyhow)
Anyhow, visit gorblimey.com |
