looks pretty good to me. i just dont like the second shot you have. i just dont really like long shots where the camera flies all over the place. realisticly you cant do that in real life, but hey. i used to do that when i first stared 3d animation. anyways one thing that always helps is to storyboard your stuff. plan out the shots. doesnt have to be fancy or anything.. or just watch some car chase scenes and get an idea of what kind of shots they use, just a suggestion .. the texturing, lighting and modeling looks really nice though

that looks really slick (in terms of models and textures). I'd agree with the second shot. If you still want to keep it, don't go so high and/or as fast... makes you feel a bit sick

Thanks for the feedback! After Reading all the suggestions i think i'll redo the race, have a start and stuff like that keeping all of your suggestions in mind. Nice car Wyatt, I have a few suggestions for you though, A lesson I learned from showing my personal designs to my car budies is I wasnt leaving room for...an ENGINE! That looks like the case with your car. Also you MIGHT wanna get rid of that black thing under the front bumper, that's just like not aerodynamic at all If you wanna design fast looking cars take a look at real ones, www.mclarencars.com www.ferrari.com www.porsche.com What method did you use to make this car?

the cars look good, the road seems a little thin tho in comparison... even a rocky mountain pass has a retaining bar, +itll give you something else for the cars to bump into and leave sparks

Cool! There are some good suggestions. Just make some of those adjustments. Get some down low shots, like worms eye view. Add a little shock bumping on the cars and they will look like there screaming down the road. Story boarding help allot, Get the overall idea on paper even if it is just text. On each scene I write down an aproximate time for each view. Put some fast shots then do some close ups in on the same scenes, just to give the viewer some idea of what is happening.

Well i hope I didn't yak too much. Have fun as usuall.

What did you use for texturing? Maps or raytracing... just wondering
they may look a little to shinny.
I love car chases, keep it up!

Have you seen this guy's stuff. I wish some day I can get my cars to look this good. http://members.tripod.co.jp/matchacci/home.htm

one day
my computer likes to crap out on raytracing

The method for modeling this little guy, I used Rhino3d, I thinks this one started out as a nurbs sphere. then I projected curves onto the surface, creating lenses, windows, and removing areas such as the wheel wells.

Lets just say it's a small turbo engine.
I kinda like the look of the long front ground effects on cars. It's not a super car, just a sporty little coupe.

anyhoo..
back to my rods.. I want to see some more cars soon. me like's

We should start a new car Thread. People post up what they have.

I herd it's down force should let it drive up side down. I'd like to see that. Damn thing is a little costly. Makes a Lamborghini look cheep.

later dude

yea it has enough down force that it can drive upside down at 100 mph, it's cost is like 1.2 million and that's partly because the inside of the engine bay and the engine is gold plated for heat dispertion, and here's what i have of the car so far...

know someone w/ a mclaren? Have you SEEN This? There's like 6 in the whole damn
US. If i were you i'd check out if they were shitting me or not if they werent i'd wanna see that damn car. I put off working on the mclaren, right now i'm designing my own car, I mean every aspect of it. The only thing is it'd be nice to find someone who's like an engineer or something to help me design the chassis engine mounts and all the shit under the hood. It's gonna be a rear mounted V-12 and the way i'm designing it if this could get made it would be bad as hell because I devised a system to give a large amount of downforce for taking turns and such but then this system can be closed/shut off to take off the down force and reduce drag to give maximum speed.

[edit] Oh yea by the way, does anyone know of a program where i could say make a 3d model of a car then have a program test the aerodynamics of it, showing how air would flow and if parts would add lift or downforce? thanks!
