More from my new series of paintings...this one alittle more involved. It IS A WORK IN PROGRESS...all the words at the bottom are to be rearranged and more to be added. COMMENTS wanted.
Does it need to say more? less?

Commie is not a race and this is not a painting.
Response for the thinking man.

Deep subject, but I like the way you've presented it. Very thought provoking, I mean it's a very nasty (for lack of a better description at present) word. Looking at the bottom 2 rows where all are the same I felt comfortable, but the top row sort of has you in a muddle as to which figure to look at.
That's what I found.
It's a real subtle way to put questions in my head, you playing with my mind man!!!!!
I don't know what response you were looking for but you have nailed the provoking emotion/thought part very well.
(I didn't initally look at the bottom words much, perhaps it they were bigger this would bring more, then again if you dropped them would that emphasise the impact of your images?)
Either way I like it, show it with pride!

Commie can be a slur for russians. Good enough for me.
This isn't a paiting? please define your definition of painting.
I agree that it is not your typical painting or your typical art...but to me...that is what makes it art...that is what makes it a great painting. Personally.
I used photoshop and actually painted quite alot. |

Very nicely done!.. I understand completely the message you are displaying here. Nature isn;t racist, but what human minds have created can be racist. Nice rendering too!

Why not vary how the little guys look instead of just changing their colors? Give them more detail (some pubic hair for synj), but similar body types. Then show their skeletons, still different, but not quite as radically different as their bodies. Then show the identical brains. I think this would help emphasize that though we are different on the outside, that on the inside, where it counts, we are very much the same.
Just a suggestion.

I like A. Buttle's idea of varying it less and less as you move down to the brain. Also it would be interesting if there were a different set of epithets for (specific to?) each column. If you do that you might also think about moving the slurs to the top row to go along with the aforementioned continuity from differences down to sameness.
Overall, the thing hits you over the head with message, perhaps too much so. Yeah, the differences are really in our heads (imaginations), but ironically we're all the same on the inside. We gotta change people's thinking, racism is wrong yadda yadda. With this sort of issue, you really have to bore into people's heads. Is there some way you can really surprise people, make them look at themselves differently? Could you make them view the piece and a week later shout "oh my" and realize where they lie on the racism issue? I don't have any answers to that; it's just a thing to think about for future work.
As far as this piece being a painting or not, it doesn't matter.

I think it could loose the words at the bottom.. then the point would be sharp and consise. that might help it a bit.
