So I think that I've come to the point where I need to stop w/ this piece (for fear of overworking it, neh?)

This is definitely better, the textured ground made you (the wounded guy -- it's you, right?) feel like standing on solid ground, and the cupid seems like flying. And the indoor and outdoor is more distinguished because it it. Looks great.
