Hi, I'm new here.
This is a head I've been working on for the past week or so. Probably about 60 hours of work went into this so far. It's part of my I'm a Loser Without a Girlfriend project, to build a 3d woman, like so many 3d artists.
Comments and/or critiiques are desperatly needed, as I seem to have hit a brick wall in the developement of this model. The eyebrows need improving, but I haven't figured out how to do that yet, same with the eyes. And she has no hair (as you just may have noticed) because I haven't been able to add hair without making her look like she washed her hair in acid and cut it with a lawnmower. (I use Lightwave, and I am just learning Sasquatch - the hair plugin - now)
And that's enough banter. Here are pictures:
And I (badly) painted some hair onto a picture to see what it looks like. Does anyone have any tips on doing hair?

Hey,
you might want to give her a smaller jawline, to make her look more feminine,
I've found a good tutorial on painting hair in photoshop [if thats what you're using]
http://www.gameart.com/tutorials/index.asp?tutorial=hair2
Hope it helps!
p.s GREAT MODEL!!! |

I'd close her eys a bit so she looks less afraid. You don't want your girlfriend to look at you like that.
*restraining myself from making pathetic machismo joke*

Thanks for the comments. This is still very much a work in progress. ^_^
In the pics above, she is in her un-morphed, blank expression, because I hadn't done any facial expressions yet. (because every time I do, I go back and tweak the model a whole bunch, then I have to redo all the morph targets with the new version of the model)
But here is a quickie smile. Sure makes a difference, doesn't it?
I adjusted her jawline a bit, too, but it's still not quite perfect...
The jawline is still sort of squared, because this model is semi-based on Meg Ryan, who as you can see, has semi-square jawline.
I'm having a hell of a hard time trying to duplicate it, though. |
