HELP! I wanted to try painting something with more difficulty to improve. I'm having extreme trouble with the shadows casted on the road. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if the perspective is correct for the "sloping" road. Also, I'm not sure about he proportions of the cars on the road. The closest car seems too big..

If anyone can guide me, it would be greatly appreciated. Paintovers would be most helpful.

Working title: Stop Thief.

STORY: The skateboarder has broken into the candy store and stole a bag of chocolate bars. He is pursued by the cops, but being a smart thief with bionic legs, he setup the skate ramp for his speedy get away. However, being a safe thief, he has removed his mask to wear a helmet. hehehehehe. That should cover any *unrealistic* aspects of this work.

I really appreciate any help that anyone can give. And if anyone wants to add to the story or picture, please feel free. We're all here to have fun!!

Because this is a work in progress, I might not need to tell you this in case you had already planned to fix it for the final version. You can also ignore this if you don't want to have a skateboard that looks like what most people today have. The skateboard is kind of long. I'd suggest having the tip right where his right foot is. It also looks to have side dimensions similar to an '80s skateboard, where the front is wider than the tail. Today the tail is the same width as the front.

Oh yeah, I know it's long. It's a longboard..

The one on the picture is actually a hybrid of the traditional longboards - it's got a tail and the nose is somewhat rounded.. Anyway, LONGBOARDING forever!!

To anyone who isn't into longboarding, check out this longboarding site. It's really fun!

Thanks for the advice though, glad to get any crits.

I like the composition very much.
You could add some more people on the street and some old newspapers flying around,.....

Nicely done.

I really like the composition a lot Bonez!

As for the perspective: it looks like it needs more refining, I would pay attention to the scale of the cars etc. If you're having trouble with your perspective or are tired of refining it at some point I would suggest some kind of a 3d program to layout the scene (could really help),

Cheers!
