For all who have been tunning in, I appologize for the tardiness of this page. The holidays as well as car trouble contributed to its being so late. I hope you like the new installment.

As always, your input is extremely important to me. Any comments are much appreciated. Thanks for viewing!

Really cool looking.
Interesting theme. Looks like he is driving in a forest of hair and his car is slipping on some hair gel

Thank you all for your opinions!

There were many who wanted to see the previous pages so here's some quick links to view them:

Page 2: http://www.geocities.com/nmalara2000/pg2.jpg

I'm sorry that I don't have a better means of allowing you to view the previous pages. I've had troubles with these links in the past so some may not work...again I appologize. I'm hoping to set up some kind of wedsite soon.

ToasT 01:

I agree with you about the "Skreech" sound effect. I'll see if something can't be done about it.

Milkman:

I'm glad you continue to enjoy the comic. I'm doing this simply to build upon my story-telling skills. I hope to be an animator some day. Telling stories is what I enjoy most in doing art. I am planning to post some things that deviate a little from this subject to get other kinds of feed back on my work, but for the most part, this cartoon is for my grins and for anyone else who might enjoy it. Who knows? Maybe I can publish it some day.

Great work, I love seeing how these pages develop. The colours and shadows are looking nice and finding the right balance (not overkill like a Liquid! colouring job yet still a nice array of shadows and colours). They are nice and bright and the characters are interesting.

At first glance, the last two panels required me to do a double take to figure out how the action was flowing. I think this could easily be alleviated with a couple of 'speed lines' to show the direction that the vehicle is spinning out of control. The other thing that I don't understand is why the little critter never say the green ooze. In the 5th panel you establish the area and the ooze is quite easy to see. The truck has also just turned a corner so it would be travelling at a slower speed. Thus I don't understand how it has time to get up to speed in the short distance (look at the proportions that you have drawn), the bug not to see it and then go slamming on the brakes causing the truck to spin. (just trying to give some comments on story telling, not that I have a clue).

Maybe I'm reading too much into this but you went to some trouble to establish the shot yet why is a bug driving a truck?

Look forward to page 7

Matt Elder-

I greatly appreciate your analysis.

My intensions in showing the truck take the corner before sliding into the ooze was to simply show that the bug in the truck didn't see the ooze coming from a great distance (he couldn't see around a corner). His speed is really not the force by which he careens into the ooze. I ment to show the bug casually taking a corner at a moderate speed, then suddenly seeing the ooze, he attempts to compensate by swerving away from it. His reflex is too late however, and as the truck begins its evasive manuver, it begins to slide in the ooze. The greatest discrepency from how I see the flow of the story is the distance between the truck and the pool of ooze in panel 4. The proportion of that distance had to be streched to ad dynamism to the scene. In reality, the ooze whould have to lie emmediatly around the corner in order for the driver of the truck to crash into it. I sacrificed this level of logic for the benefit of the story.

The truck element is a bit hard to believe, but its a cartoon. This part of the bug's world requires a little bending of the imagination. If Disney can make mouses talk, and anime' can make giant two legged death machines, I can make a bug driving a truck.

I hope all of that makes sense. The events on this page are some what complex. I tried to make them as clear and without too much cheese as possible.

Again, I appreciate your comments. Please continue in the future.
