Arrrrrgh...Finished at last, after 7 Photoshop freezes, 2 full scratch disks (and I have 50 gigs....), and a whole lot of annoyance. The original was over 4600 pixels wide, so the details aren't so great.

Oh, and that irritating, obtrusive little signature.... My general policy is never to apologize for anything that isn't my fault, but it DOES look utterly retarded. It's there because I've been having plagiarism problems lately, and they've got me seriously PO'd at the world in general.

Anyway, I'm sure no-one's reading this anyway, so on to the picture:

------------------
My old man's a dustman
'E wears a dustman's 'at
'E wears gorblimey trousers...
AAAAAAAAND....
'E lives in a council flat!

Hey, I made up a joke:
Q: Why don't goths go to McDonald's?
A: They might get a HAPPY MEAL!

Heh, heh, heh.

*Humph* Well, the deathly-pale skin & the spiderwebs were supposed to be goth.... Dammit, what do I need to do? Add some black eyeliner and some silver jewellery? Hehe.... Just kidding. I don't know. I just thought it looked goth to me.

Sorry. I didn't mean to offend any goths. If I could, I'd re-name this thread. Maybe 'This is for you, Enayla', since Enayla loves wings so much. But I can't, so...my apologies to all goths.

I just have to comment on this (I'm leaving town for a couple of days, but I haven't left yet - though I will in a few minutes)

SoOOOooooOOooo beautiful, Socar! Pretty! Wheeh!

Okay... with that out of my head, I feel I have to say something more... Um... I don't think it's gothic. I think it's dark, beautiful, and moody - which is something that a lot of people connect to "gothic". I also think it's one of your best pictures so far. I like. Lots.

Well I like it. I don't claim to know what is or isn't goth, but is that really what matters here?

All that matters to me, personally, is that the picture itself kicks so much arse. That's one fancy guillotine, it'd look excellent mounted on one of my walls. Well, if I could find one big enough.

I really love the webbed up woman down there... it almost looks like she's made out of spiderwebs. I like that.

I don't think this is goth in that way milkman. I've seen lots of gothic buildings and this pic doesn't fit imho.
And I would think batman is more neogothic.

Okay. I take it back. This picture is not gothic, in any way, shape, or form. This thread is now entitled "THE NOT GOTH THREAD".

That established, what do you think of the picture?

I like the pic. As for goth, I wouldn't know, since i'm not a goth, but the architecture style is definently 'gothic', like TheMilkMan. Much like Quake III is inspired by gothic architecture.

Kickass pic.

The "goth" stereotype is thrown around alot, so what exactly is "goth"? Faust, you said it's a state of mind, what state of mind is it??

Socar- great pic! And, it's funny, I went to a NIN concert in San Francisco last year and there were a ton of goths at McDonald's.

Okay.... Many thanks to everyone who was kind enough to comment....

El Tigre--I love Edgar Allan Poe. I didn't actually think of him until you mentioned him, but thanks for pointing that out. I'm flattered. And watch that cape of yours.

Spitfire--Hehe.... amigothornot.com was hilarious. I don't even have to put my photo up there to know that I'm not goth.

faustgfx--Thanks. (For the 'nice', that is.)

Cerbero--I'll look into Quake III. Sounds cool.

schabe--The picture does have a background story, but it's rather long. It's metaphorical, though--think sword of Damocles, here.

A. Buttle--I work at a large size because I am very clumsy, and couldn't possibly draw all the details smaller.

Visigoth--*snif* *snif* Ew--yeah! Get this off my screen! (Thanks!)

Sacrelicious--Hey, lighten up--it's a joke, that whole goths & McDonald's thing. I am perfectly aware that goths, like everyone else, have a Big Mac attack once in a while.

Anyway, thanks again, everyone.... Toodles.

My birthday's in June, but I still think of myself as 18 and a half (because I'm a moron) and when I saw your post, I was just curious how close our birthdays were.
