heh yea a girlfriend can be a tough subject just cause you really know the person and really want it to turn out right...
So the best way to approach it is to probly not think about that alltogether and just approach it like any other portrait.

I really like it! Her skin tones are very nice, and her eyes seem to have a lot of soul behind them (not flat and dead like the eyes of very many pictures)
That said, I think you could've worked a little bit more on her stray locks of hair. They look a bit ragged and uneven in places - I don't know quite how to describe it. Even so - this is a very pretty picture!

Enayla: oi! more about those stray strands of hair! ...I will be certain to make more adjustments to them when I have a free moment (this afternoon or tonight)
All who responded to the original post: what do you think about the changes? Do you feel that I missed anything commented on, or do you have any new comments?
Keep the critiques comin!

The face is skewed... the head would be tilted, but then form of the head and facial features are, well, skewed. It a nice rendering though. |

hrmn.. by scewed I'm thinkin you're talkin about the angles... yea.. some might be a bit off... and the mouth certainly "droops" too much on the right side (her left, our right)
basic head structure & angles:
perhaps the center vertical line should be tilted a little more clockwise... woopee...
The underdrawing was a very quick gesture sketch (about 3 minutes) that I never had the intention of using for anything else... til I decided to paint this... Would have been better with the angles if I had done a more precise underdrawings prolly.
