A quick colored sketch of the Royal Funeral Attendants. I wanted a a simple, somber costume, with no skin showing. Since thier role is as "guiders through the darkness".. That *is* a lamp in his hand...someone said it looked like a lint roller.

Nice design, Id love to have some of em at my funeral
Im not a fan of the lamp though, if you would make it more slim itll look great too. |

nice design. I think theey look pretty serious, and the masks cover their possibly weeping faces is an interesting touch.
Maybe red isn't much of a fitting color to wear at one's funeral...I don't rally care tho, it's not like my body will ever be found. j/k
In any case, a less saturated violet or wine colored red might be more suitable IMO. The rendering looks a little messy, cleaning it up would be good. |

I know this is a conceptual drawing, but i think some more mood/background work would be fun too... anyways, here are the suggestions i wanted to make. I hope you don't mind. Some people don't like paintovers so i'm not sure you'll appreciat this...

Nova, If you'd do for me a paintover like that, I'd be your personal man-slave for a week, nah...make it 3 days and a half... |

I love how that face mask turns into almost a waterfall of blood. Its kind of neat how it almost seems irreverant (for our culture, black is customary funeral attire, and this guy is wearing blazing red. Then there's just the red=blood=death thing, and it just seems so darkly irreverant to whoever just died. I'm loving it). |

OOo, Nice Paintover. good lines and the muted colors work very well. Very funeral procession-y. I appreciate very very much. I was debating putting him in a more formal piece anyway, and this pretty much sealed it.
As for the red, I chose it cause it would stand out against the black, and represent the blood slain. Although purple works as well, being a royal funeral and all.
Thanks again!
