I've got a problem when I try to play two different games. (Soldat/UT2k3Demo) It's the same error for both, originally it told me I was missing a .dll file, so I went and got that file. That happened again with a different .dll file, and I d/l that one, too. After that, I would try to start the game and get this message:
The D3D8THK.DLL file is linked to missing export GDI32.DLL:DdEntry1. Behind that I get this message:
D:\Games\Soldat\Soldate.exe A device attached to the system is not functioning

I believe I have the GDI32 file, what should I do to fix this?
Thanks in advance if anyone can help.

try reinstalling Direct X off the windows site. www.microsoft.com/directx should give you the right one.

sometimes game uninstallers will delete system files that are needed, and then it screws your computer all up.. I just recently had the Sierra utilities thing, that get installed with Halflife, screw up when I wanted to uninstall halflife and it deleted ALL my games. I was less than thrilled.

if reinstalling Direct x doesnt work, sometimes windows .dlls are configured specific for your computer and if it gets deleted or screwed up, then just replacing that .dll from somewhere else is ineffective because it is no longer configured to your computer... so It might require a windows reinstall.

I could be wrong tho.. sombody will probably come along and prove me wrong.
