Does anyone else have this problem?
SOmetimes when I am not using my wacom mouse, and its on the tablet, the mouse cursor on the screen will vibrate back and forth a tiny bit, as if I am shaking it left/right. I have the newest drivers, and i find it sorta gets annoying when I am trying to copy text, and it starts to move a bit. It even does this when I am using the pen, I will try to hold it still, and it moves quite a bit, knowing full well that I am holding it relatively still for the mouse cursor to move...
Also, I've had the problem lately where my mouse would stop responding completely, whereas the pen works fine. I have to slam the mouse around a bit, and it starts working again........ |

Is the pen near the tablet? If you have both the pen and the mouse trying to send signals to the tablet the cursor will jitter. |

Hmm i thought im the only one who has that because i posted about this a while ago and nobody experienced that. I thought it's because of tablet being too close to the monitor.
Also sometimes the pen just doesn't work, i have to reinstall drivers or restart computer.. so i cant test if its because of monitor right now cause its dead again
Ill tell you later. |

No, hehe, I do not try to use my wacom mouse and pen at the same time.
I figured it out by doing some FAQ searching under Win 95/98/ME section, even though I use Win XP, it wasnt there. But anyhow, apparantly my tablet is too close to my monitor. Its not too close, that I can see atleast, more than 30cm. But here's what Wacom FAQ had to say to me.
Q. When I use the pen on the tablet the screen cursor jitters, what is causing this?
A. Jitter of the screen cursor is usually caused by the tablet being placed to close to the monitor. Monitors produce RF (Radio Frequency) noise which can interfere with the Wacom tablet. To correct this problem try moving the tablet away from the monitor, or change the refresh frequency rate of the monitor.

I dunno, this might not be the problem though, its still jittery...... I'll have to untangle the cables so that I can put it on my lap or somethin, which might kinda be cruddishly annoying. |

Damn, i dont like that. I have no space on my desk
Well, try changing your monitor's refresh rate to 60 or somethn, and see if its better. |

If you have an optical mouse hooked up and working alongside your tablet, turn the optical mouse upside down.
It could be feedback from optical mouse, everytime you draw on tablet you make it "jiggle" for a little while, some surfaces confuse optical mice too. |

If you have tiny jitters, then i think it's also because of tablet's and monitor's resolution differences.
Cause if you move your pen a tiny bit, you can find a spot where the pointer will jump from pixel to pixel.. i guess because wacom's resolution is higher and pointer gets trapped in between two pixels of your monitor.. or something like that
try it, unless you have high resolution set up |

That's good to know about the monitor... but I put my wacom in my lap when I draw anyway. |

The refresh rate of your monitor gennerally has to be higher than 70-75 Hz to stop the jitering. My monitor's running at 85 though and it still interferes with my pen, it's just a lot weaker now.
That's atleast my experience.

well, my cruddy monitor that i got a long time ago (2~3 years?), is a cruddy 15", cruddy max ers of 1024x768 @ XXhz(Im not sure), but I dont like that resolution, so I tried another rez, and it lets me go a little higher, but 1152x768 is the highest it goes without squishing the resolution to an odd number (you know, the regular resolutions, 480,640,800,1024,1152, 1280, 1600), it gives me some odd resolutions, but I run at 1152@60hz. its the way i like it, and it jitters. but i resolved the jitteriness by putting the tablet near my lap, which cures me of this blasphemous design flaw. Ah wells, I should save up for that 21" monitor for $189 (end of lease monitor). it would be so nice...... |

Yeah, hehe great.
60Hz is a killer. The lower the worse for you AND your eyes.
I guess a flat panel monitor wouldn't interfere at all, and you could have your wacom up the nose of it whitout any jittering...hmmmm.

Just a dumb question, but why would a reguilar CRT monitor differ from a flat Screen monitor? Unless you mean a LCD monitor. Because, I thought regular CRT monitors were the same except the for the flat monitors have glass tubing that are made "perfectly" flat, so thus less glare, and more heavier (because of the more glass needed to make it flat), and more expensive? |

Flat panel < read LCD (which is what I meant)
Flat screen < read CRT FD Trinitron or similar
