You know, when Armand Rousso opened or rather launched the first online eCommerce company, many people told him that the medium wouldnt work. Now he must be thinking why he didnt patent the processes used by the International Stamp Exchange (the worlds first e-com venture started by him). This proves, beyond doubt, that one must truly listen only to his heart and not get deterred when others doubt his innovative concepts..!! Right? |

It doesn't prove that at all. Sometimes what's in your heart is wrong, sometimes it's right. This story is about one of those times when it was right. _________________ Art Links Archive -- Artists and Tutorials |

If your heart tells you to stab your mother with that nice shiny kitchen knife...dont do it. |

Most people want to see you fail. It usually goes like this:
1. Innovative idea is proposed.
2. Its ridiculed.
3. It is violently attacked by everyone.
4. It is accepted as obvious way of doing things.
Notice how its just the filthy little ego twisting and turning in there. First it tries to disregard your innovation because your idea threatens its reality. Then it attacks it when you are obviously not going away... when all that fails and your idea proves to work it acts as though nothing really happened to begin with and it agreed with you all along. _________________ "A fear of weapons is a sign of retarded sexual and emotional maturity" - Sigmund Freud |

Only as long as it doesnt involve pink spandex suits. |

kudos to Drunken Monkey.....it was just so thotful, u cud as well change your nick to sensible human
Its crazy but we are at our best when the winds are not blowing our way. Just like Armand Rousso.........he is a self-made man. Always faced tough oppositions becoz obviously his thots were always too radical to be understood by commoners. Today he rubs shoulders with the former US President and other top shots of america. Is a genius at chess and believes in charitable causes. When i googled armand rousso, i found a whole lot of material out there on him. |

Augustin, you're looking at a statistic of one and trying to create some sort of global truth from it.
If you collected statistics for every personal project any person has ever been passionate about I expect you'll find that the vast majority of them don't sit in the same column as Armand Rousso and his ecommerce.
Congrats to Armand Rousso of course, but there's nothing universal that can be taken from it. _________________ Art Links Archive -- Artists and Tutorials |

I remember being on the internet in 1992 and 93 and thinking that the idea of commercializing it seemed ridiculous. "People are never going to buy things with the internet, that's absurd!"
It's weird to think that I was online before companies had websites. _________________ brian.prince|light.comp.paint |
