I don't know of any sites or threads offhand for this sort of thing. However, I don't think you really need one. I think character design is relatively straightforward. I'm not sure what your character is, but the more you know about who and what the character is the better. Is is a man or woman? What does he/she do for a living? Where was he/she born? How would he/she dress? Is your character cartoony or a realistic person? With a cartoon you'll have more freedom to bend the look of the character's face/head/body to fit the character. I would recommend looking at other existing characters out there(be it movie, game, whatever) to get ideas and maybe try to find a character that is kind of close to yours and figure out what makes these characters who they are and what their design says about them.
I don't know if this is the kind of response you were looking for. I know this isn't any sort of breakthrough thinking, but maybe you'll get something out of it. Hope I've helped at least a little. Good luck. |
