"Technologically, this is a movie of many firsts; its the first feature-length, stop-motion film . . . shot using commercial digital SLR still photography cameras and, perhaps most significantly, its the first movie to choose digital cameras over film cameras based on the criterion of image quality."

Awesome! I always though this was computer animated.
It looks so smooth and clear - simply digital.
Stop Motion always earns my greatest respect.
I loved Nightmare before Christmas. Can't await the movie!

Isn't it already out? Thought it was meant for a Halloween release. Anyways I didn't know it was stop-motion either, cool stuff, maybe I'll go see it.

Yeah it's out already here in the US, although I don't know the overseas release dates. I took the family, and we all enjoyed it - entertaining film.

I too was very surprised to read aboutt he technology behind it. My first thoughts were that it was CG but modified to appear stop action; however, I wasn't surprised as much by it actually being stop action as much as I was by the technology behind it - still digital SLRs?? Wow - it makes me wonder what I can do with m own dgital SLR.
