Gotta REALLY recommend this one. One of the first "kids" movies in a looooonnnnggggg time that is actually worth seeing.
I won't say anything about the story other than it's (from what I can remember) pretty close to the book. Don't expect too much of a fantasy element, what's in the trailer is pretty much everything in the movie.
What you'll get is a really heartfelt film featuring some of the most competent acting from kids in a long time.
This deserves to do well in the box-office.

Reminds me of Pan's Labyrinth, the comment about the fantasy parts in the trailer. Seems it's a better approach to lure people in than giving a real impression of what the movie will be like. Not that I didn't like that movie, but wrong expectations sometimes spoil the enjoyment.
Still, looking forward to this one. |

In this case, the decision to put the fantasy element in the trailer is a good one, just as is was for "Pan's Labyrinth".
Unfortunately, most audiences won't go out of thier way to see a deep movie with a sad ending, even if it's story is extremely well written. |

You saw Pan's Labyrinth? I was hoping to see a "farytale" but it was much more than a little movie full of good intentions...
There is really awesome moments in the movie: the creature at the table was my favourite!
So creepy creature! Two holes for the eyes and the eyes in the hands... _________________ Fear is the path to the dark side! |
