I'm learning Chinese right now using a DVD. But i need to go back and watch a scene again and again. Is there a player that can do smooth FF and RW? Media Player Classic can't |

I've never seen one that could reverse smoothly. You could try VLC (open source), but I'm guessing it won't do it either.
DVDs are kind of meant to be read in one direction. You might try ripping it to your hard disc and see if it works any better. _________________ brian.prince|light.comp.paint |

The problem is the drive not the software. As balistic suggested it will work better if you rip the DVD to your harddisc. Then it's about the hardware (cpu, ram) to do the job.
Software-related there is nothing out there that can do that as far as I can tell,... |

That's why film-editors use super-hi-end hardware, quad-core and an additional set of hamsters running in wheels to FF and RW
I can't even rewind on my (tv) dvd-player. Instead I have to type in the timestamp I want to jump to. The player looks nifty tho, that makes up for parts of the problem. _________________ CA SB|Flickr |

Problem solved. I just ripped the chapters with a nice ripper and rewinding is not a problem. Used Movie2x DVD Ripper btw. |
