This is something I did last night...very late.. TOO late. Therefor it looks kinda weird heh, took me approxmately 2h, using photoshop and my mouse.
The main idea for the pic was, like a hill, with lots of blood coming down from it... a damaged city & a cut off marathon head *grin*, resembling there has been some sort of war n stuff. And then a little hut, kinda like the only calm & friendly place on earth let me know what u think anyway.
oh yeah its kinda dark..therefor it looks alot better if u have a black background

Ah, I thought you might post it while I write to tell you there's no image..
I really like the foreground with the glow and grass.

Is that a little hut in the foreground? I think next to the grass stuff it looks about 2" tall in comparison to the rest of the scene I really love the style though, very interesting start. I hope you can clear it all up a bit, the mid-ground blur/river/smoke or whatever is also quite a bit indecipherable and adds to my perspective/scale confusion. I hope you spend a little more time on it and come out with something great

Cool lookin' pic, Binke. I really like that "Mullins-ish" painting look you've got going there. And I like dark stuff, so

Yes, well im very inspired by him. I can do lineart too though, I draw some comic/manga also, but it's just more fun to throw around paint! Weee! Look at that paint flying!

thanks for the feedback.
yeah it is a little hut.
a Pixies hut! that is placed on the bottom of that bloody hill, with the chopped off marathon head. It is as big, as one of those stones. The big brown thingy under the city, is also a hill, but it's covering up the city image. If you kinda twist your head, a few times, it might get clearer
But I must say the BG with the city & hill was kinda rushed out, because it was soooo late, and i had to goto bed. I thought of cropping the image, but that kinda destroyed the whole meaning with the picture.

maybe you should rethink the pixie hut idea...it really hurts the perspective
well...unless you have little pixies around the hut, then that would mess people up more
if it was a fairie hut, you could have little glowing fairies swirling around the hut...that might be cool.
try to put some fire in the background of the destroyed city...or somewhere in there...
to contrast the brightness of the foreground.
The front part with the rocks and grass is badass...although the city in the background needs just as much detail as the foreground part. Detail is still on objects far away, it's just smaller and more compact.

That one looks MUCH better. AWESOME job. The perspective is great in this one. The fairy on the right looks really cool. |

It's way too dark on my monitor, I don't see anything of the background unless I bring it in Photoshop and crank up the levels. So that's a shame
Is it made on a Mac? Macs have different gamma so that could be the reason...

Uhm, I have a kinda bright screen..
so for me it looks ok.
No it's made on a PC.
hm..increase the brightness on your screen.
Mine is on default...
gayclub? lol
Maybe I should consider decreasing my monitor brightness when I do my pictures.

Just set the contrast to maximum and the brightness as low as it goes while keeping the whites bright. |
