Recently unearthed Betacam recording of Derrick May and Carl Craig performing Strings of Life, live, in 1989.

Prior to 1988, techno was a mostly obscure regional genre from the American rust belt, until records from Detroit started turning into huge hits in Western Europe ('Strings of Life' being one of the biggest).

I am currently fixing some computers laptops (well a shitload of them as a matter of fact) during the summer here and I have been listening to this now for the past couple of days, I keep repeating it. This is the full album btw.....highly recommended.... Smile
