Had a listen. Interesting what other people compose. Got Linux
(Multimedia Studio) here somewhere but haven't done much with it
(tedious/time-consuming, indeed). Which program do u use?
Rivets attention... Got a basic song done (finally!), posted it for a buddy to
hear - then realized it's a theme from LoTR, lol. Was so engrossed... |

I know the feeling of writing a melody that feels perfect and then realizing it feels that way because it's from a song you like.
I use a Windows program called Orion by Synapse Audio. It's not as flashy as Live/Bitwig/Logic, but it's respected for having great sound quality. There's going to be a free public beta of the next version released pretty soon. I'll post something here when it's available, if you're interested in checking it out. _________________ brian.prince|light.comp.paint |

Oh sorry, didn't mean LMMS is more tedious/time-consuming than any other
program. Buddy does some awesome stuff with Sony Acid Music, which also
eats a lot of time.
LMMS is fine. Not hard to figure out (if I can do it, anyone can, heh).
'Graphical' fade seems a bit wonky/clumsy tho that was an earlier version...
Thanks for the heads up re Orion. If I get serious about music I'll, uh - then
I'll be serious and which program won't matter. |
