yes. lots of motion. However I do think the centipede could have used a bit more detail either with lighting or actual detail it self.
but awesome work. _________________ http://www.annisnaeem.blogspot.com/ |

the action and composition is very strong here I think, well done!
2 things: he's looking away from the centipede while aiming?
and also for me it feels like he's about to fall backwards, not holding a balance in his pose.
otherwise, really great illustration! _________________ homepage:blog |

The centipede - one of the coolest Steam-tech designs I've ever seen. I love the way the light from the eyes travel and give the image motion.
daryl pretty much said what I was thinking about Hidesato (and mentioned on DeviantArt); The direction he's looking/facing is confusing even though I understand that the character has to face that way for the audience to be able to see him properly.
Overall though and as usual of your work - Stunning! _________________ http://neechart.blogspot.com/ |

Yes, I can understand that from a composition point of view that you want to see the character's face, but it does seem strange that he's not looking at his target.
The steam coming out the back of the machine also don't feel quite right. There's a great sense of movement in the body of the machine, but the steam coming straight out makes it look like it's not moving. _________________ Art Links Archive -- Artists and Tutorials |

hey thanks a lot everyone for the great crits!
Haha, I give up on the face issue. I wanted it to be visible with him aiming from the corner of his eye, but it really seems it's not conveyed that way.
Anyway, I'll just leave this piece behind and move on |
