In Inkscape vectors can be blurred (see cloud), if that's useful to anyone (surprised me; beziers are unaffected, whether the object's blurred or not). Otherwise, been converting old stuff from Word format (2000 px max export res) to Inkscape (unlimited export res and generates pngs too)...

Not much progress but still moving Smile -
wondered if drawing clouds front to back
(rather than silhouette first) would be easier;
seems to be; but having a clear idea of
the volume/shape is still most important
(lost track in this one)...

...low as I could go (polys)... incidental: export image (sketchup) hung my machine, until I thought to "run as administrator" (who knew?): much smoother image...

again (still), avoiding loading the page (until dialup is extinct, yep; ie. one image per post; apologies to anyone who's watching this thread and getting email notices)...

figured out Blender (the basics), not as hard as I thought but still not accessible to the average Joe (that's me too, unh-hunh) - back to sketchup (max potential for group effort, including those who are 'mathematically minded', ie. those who might not 'get' fluidity but still want to be involved - yeah, I'm not sure how useful saying this is but I'm sure nobody else is, so there Very Happy )...

Don't know why I didn't think of posting wip details before - Inkscape (vectors).
Starting to get fun (sandbox storyline)... Smile

Can't recall where I saw a "3D" thread so will stick this here. First try with Sculptris, really like the program, such as it is (teaser for ZBrush, essentially)...

Another one (plus the interface, for those who haven't seen it) - speedsculpting, really; lol. Really liking this very basic/fast program. Very Happy

...finished negotiating .obj export to Blender (bit tricky),
where vertex paint actually works ("paint" bug in Sculptris,
I've got one of the unlucky machines, apparently)...

...(relatively) low poly bust (below); clued that Sculptris
would be great for character sketches (if little else);
here goes...

Still turning them out. No ref (as usual) - not a known character; maybe he'll be an xtra... Idea

Redundant and boring (another version upthread), but converting from Word to Inkscape is exactly that (glad the original effort stalled or I'd have a lot more to do).

Starting to gain momentum: less chore, (still) more fun. Smile
(see script upthread).

Edit: not sure how I created a direct hit for a particular post,
rather than full page, ie. (direct hit link):

but would sure like to know how to do it again...

Dude, seriously - this paper has no Ctrl-Z... Very Happy

Mediocre photos + mediocre PSE bump, but good enough for the purpose (inking).
Just pushing the pencil, for now (no concern re subject, just following what appears)...

Bit more control (and remembered to use mechanical pencil to sharpen)...

Eleanor Rigby is cranked (still; lol), more is on its way - thanks. Smile

Gotta say, there's something 'key' in that cellular style (seen in your Revolver knockoff, especially). Laughed when I saw your (blog) notes about doing each star by hand ("Sneak"), I used to fill pages with tiny, hand-drawn circles (no idea why)...

All to say, great inspiration/validation. Smile

Glad you liked it. Actually the green psychedelic patterns in the middle is inspired from the backwards-guitar in " i'm only sleeping" Wink I always imagined it looking like that in my mind.

I can tell you the reason why i did the stars like that.
Often when i draw i have just a pencil or a pen at hand and i'm too lazy to get something else - so i end up doing it the hard way. Also i'm fed up with having just half-done drawings since i often finish them or add effects on the computer. So i make myself sweat a little extra to get a completed piece. It might not have turned out as good as i hoped, but it's there:)
