Hi folks
I'm new here and I've only spent an hour to find my self caught up by some truly great works of art.

Figured there is no better way to get to know people but by exposing your neck Smile

So here is a few samples of what I do to kill the little time I have.
Do give me some crit if you have the energy. I can use a good smack by the crit whip.

That's it for now. Don't want to push my luck Smile[img][/img][img][/img]

Here's my critique. Specially about the creatures, you should definitely train at cast drawing/shading every pencil drawing you make. Your creatures are cool in design, but their presentation lacks a bit of sense of volume, which suggests you don't master how a sphere (and thus, a more complex form) is molded by lighting, and how to synthetise those shadows to pretty much 2 values. You surely are in the right path though, as hinted by the cylinders (tails, horns, etc).

Anyway, when a drawing lacks this volume feeling, trying to compensate it by adding detail/texture is usually fruitless, and sometimes even dangerous since often the texture accentuates the sense of flatness.

The environment is nicely detailed, although you should have some practicing on fire and cloud effects by watching reference and trying to match it with PS brushes.

Hope that helped you! Wink

Abelo: Thanks. Yes that's the stuff I need to hear. I'll study light from now on.

Yes, definitely do it. At some point (and it won't be in 2 or 3 casts, but hundreds of them) you'll suffer a perceptual shift and start to think in value masses and mass contrasts. Guaranteed.
