Google just bought Boston Dynamics.

http://www.nytimes.com/2013/12/14/technology/google-adds-to-its-menagerie-of-robots.html?pagewanted=all&_r=1&

I didn't see that one coming. But it's clear now: Google wants to become Skynet.

"All completely lego" and then the editor cheekily cuts to show some metal springs on the side of the device. Very Happy

But cool nonetheless.

Sumaleth, interestingly enought the tecnique is starting to get close and closer. I suspect we will see more intergrated systems with more robot technology getting more common. I read somewhere about more advanced AI being used in for eg Netflix. Smile

Here's something from volvo, interesting article...:

AI programming techniques have been used in high-end search engines for many years now, and they look set to take over more and more systems that we interact with every day. I don't know if they're used in car breaking systems (stability control, etc) yet but that will be weird when they are.

They are definitely being used for those driver-less cars that everyone seems to be trying to develop right now.

Difficult/impossible systems to tweak, but powerful nonetheless.
