Hehe... I don't know exactly what to call this. But you know all the neato graphiti and stuff? Well could anyone possibly explain some techniques that are used... just basic ones, and how do yo do many of the different affects. If someone could take a little time to help me with this and even include some visuals.. i'd be extremly happy . Thanks guys!

i'm not the one who can help you. no idea why I'm commenting...
Why do people do the graffiti stuff? Thats a serious question thats been on my mind for a while. Doesn't it get boring just writing stuff no one can read? |

That's kinda ignorant on your part.... Cause you could say that about anything basically. Abstract art, don't people get really bored of creating stuff that no one understands at all? And don't realisim artists get sick of staying in the same principles of reality??
See my point? It's all art and expression. No matter what way you choose to express yourself.. it's art. And i'm trying to experience all kinds of different art. It's kinda neat to challenge yourself. And it's certinly fun. That's why I want everyones opinion. |

There's a big chunk of the world that can't read the characters I'm typing right now.

i hope u r going to do tags and pieces only on ur garage's wall, personally i'd leave my dogs loose at anybody putting crap on walls they didn't buy (if not that my dogs once left loose would look at me with a "so WTH are we supposed to do now ? " ).
P.S. u most likely need to pair up with someone and join a local crew to learn that kind of stuff, we did it at highschool (we were allowed to ) there's a few different spray cans u need to use (different hmmm... hell i don't know the english word for it.. well the mouth, the exit point of spray; they have different shapes, 2 or 3 lenghts of slim pipes or with no additions) also the tech is roughly similar to airbrush , only that u have to use distance instead of regulating the spray width and for pinpoint dense spray u need the piped bombz |

I used to throw up peices for a short while, it mostly has to do with attitude, and personal style. Everyone was looking for a bigger and better way to outdo the last guy. I know some peice artists that go for strict geometry, while others go for more artlike peices, or use representational elements to better enunciate what it is they are trying to say. For example, a keyboard enthusiest would maybe tag his peice, and use the piano keys as his dimensional depth, or shaded undertones...while someone into the smurfs might paint his peice in Smurf blue, make the letters more disney-esk, and possibly throw a smurf or two into the peice as a whole...
Attitude, and what colors you can afford. The more I ponder it, the more I have to say it is an attitude thing. There is no real basis for what is done other than I am better than you, I will say it bigger and bolder...
