Very cool, I like all of these that have been done!
But see - if a guy posts his funny face up on the forum, everyone says, "Hehe! What a funny guy!" But if a girl posts her funny face up, everyone says, "Damn, that's one ugly lookin' girl!"
So I happily step down from this challenge, my normal self port looks bad enough ^_^

Fucking rad.....oops I swore
Who's a nutta then....
.....pull that second pic back a bit so we can see the straight jacket.
Joachim -
Do you experiment much with getting loose and whipping them out fast. Gestural drawing and quick pieces tend to be a real satisfying experience (if they turn out as planned).
Are YOU happy with these...
I like to know how the artist feels

That first one made me laugh out loud--looks like you got caught playing Tarzan or something

Hi, Joachim! Last night I saw micke's attemts and now I have two really nice facial expressions in front of my nose. Nice.. and it's good for you and nice for us that you paint often.
These are really cool. I could indentify you from these two pieces. How long does it take to paint something like these? I would really like to know 'cause many of your quick practices look well handled. Beatiful skintones and shading too. Wow! I am dying to buy some WACOM... huh.

hi joachim,
as usual really nice picture. i was just wondering did you use a miroro or something? or you looked at some pictures? i mean, if you used a miror it must have been very tiring to keep those facial expressions while painting
hehe, anyway, really nice work. keep posting.
peace.

The second is absolutely perfect!

oh, lotsa feedback, always very inspiring...
jezebel, no come on. that's the good thing about being an artist, not a model. Ever heard of seville, a female artist that makes herself 10 time more ugly than she actually is. look at these: img1 img2
Kjetil, thx !
shizo, thx. Well I have a lot to lear, as most people do, but to answer your question... -buy a mirror and draw yourself all the time with different lightsettings. Try to study and understand and draw every little detail you see, both proportional and colors. Do this every day, and you will improve rapidly.
lukias, thx! Yes I try to experiment a lot. Also, I try really hard to increase speed of doing a picture but still try to keep a certain amount of dtails in. Well, I'm ok happy of these for now, not very, and prbably not in a week or so
superbug, thx !
themilkman, thx
justin, thx. I dig how you did yours. less brushstrokes, but still with excellent proportions. I need to work on doing things simpler but with still as much content.
capnpyro, hehe..some people tells me I look like jack nicholson when I haven't cut my hair for a while- time for a haircut
striker, thx !
snakeG, thx, hehe no we are all done with the artwork for IGI. Just a few bugs now and then. But, the game is done so nothing more to do. Lotsa spare time
sephroth, thank you, tips ?!? Observe is the only thing I can say.
yourmum, thank you. I will paint like hell from now on Time spent, well, I guess about 30-40 min each. But, I did a few more, but only got faitly happy with these. It's something that goes fairly quick compared to totally imaginative stuff.
sear, thx, well, first one I looked at phot, the other form mirror. I just couldn't do that open mouth thing at the same time as drawing
liquid! thx ! why don't you make one ? It's really fun
that was a lot of thx's......

Did you stare into the mirror like that the whole time til this was finished?! Haha! Man, you have cool teeth...
Like these, makes me want to try it, too. Maybe we should do a Dr*w Cl*b on "me as mad as can be"?

Frost - Although it doesn't look as though they painted the face It looks more of like a picture stuck on the 3D model.. Anyway, IGI is done!! Woohoo! You know what that means |
