I saw a thread the other day where someone posted a Legolas picture. When i finally got a chance I did this, buuut...no more thread. It's already past on, so here we go.
My take on Lord of the Rings' Legolas
if you mirror this it looks really whacked, i can't change that now, but i think it comes from the over exageration and how i pivoted my pencil.

That's right on the money Isric, I love it, it's got a nice feel to it, although I see you went the more cartoonish side, which is nice, it brings a fresh look to the Tolkien world!
I really like the colors, I also like how you used shadow to define alot of his face (one thing which I am trying to work on).
Those lines look pretty nice for pencil too and the snowy effect is nice looking, although I have one gripe about it, if you notice the shading on his golden waist deally looks rather off, it looks funny, and it's rather dark so it contrasts with the rest of the picture and I found my eyes drifting towards it. Oh and one more thing, not to pick but his hair comming down his back almost looks like part of his arm, not sure why, but it does to me...
Cheers

That's beatiful. It's been a while since i read LOTR. Legolas is an elf, no? The only crit I have is that his face seems a little strange, like it's off center.

Nice work Isric. I'm not crazy about the head being so long, while I like the stylization, I think a tad shorter would still do the trick. Also the hand holding the bow might use to be a smidgen larger. On the other hand I really like the pose, costume and overall feel! Great idea having the 'floaters' in the air too!
Hope that sort of makes sense.

I kinda like it the way it is. The head is slightly too long. Great colour choice!

Yeah, with the head, I started with a really exadgerated shape. Because of this it quickly became dificult to keeo proportions right. You should save this and Mirror it. Oy!
And thank you about the colors. I wanted a warm sceme but to the effect of it being cold. (hope that worked)
Anyway, thank you |
